Welcome to Grittleton House School.  We pride ourselves on having a unique ethos which has been nurtured from its inception in 1951 by Founder Mrs Joanna Shipp.

The school is a family-run co-educational day school and our motto - ‘To strive is to accomplish’ – very much epitomises all that we do. We pride ourselves on small class sizes which we know give the individual the care, attention and guidance our pupils need to learn in a friendly and safe environment. We are very fortunate to be located in 30 acres of beautiful rural Wiltshire countryside on the edge of the Cotswolds. This environment allows the very youngest of our pupils in the Flying Start Nursery to explore outdoors throughout the year, and the older pupils have plenty of space to run freely.

Our dedicated teachers inspire and motivate each pupil in quietly studious and well-disciplined groups so that they can reach their full potential. Each pupil is encouraged to achieve to the very best of their ability whether academic, sporting or creatively in music, art and drama. Our academic results are consistently excellent where pupils gain the very highest marks at Key Stage 2 SATS and at GCSE level where 100% of our leavers enter the sixth form school/college of their choice.
